The editors

Every guide on this site is signed Smart Pick Desk editors. This page says who that is, what the editors do before a page goes up, and — just as important — what they have not done.

Who signs the pages

Smart Pick Desk is run by one independent operator. We sign pages with the site's name rather than a personal name, and we do not publish a photo. That is a choice about privacy, not about accountability: every page lists its sources and the date each one was read, every change is dated in the page's change log, and you can write to us at [email protected] about any line on any page.

We do not claim qualifications, certificates or years of experience in email marketing, and you will not find any on this site. The pages are meant to stand on what they show you — quotes you can check on the official page, and arithmetic you can redo yourself.

What the editors do

• Read the official pages. Pricing pages, plan cards, FAQs and terms, read on a stated date.
• Record the numbers. Where a price depends on list size, every step of the page's slider is recorded, in both billing positions where the page offers them.
• Draw the charts. Every chart on the site is drawn by us from those records. There are no screenshots of the products.
• Write and check. Quotes, prices and dates are checked against the saved pages by script before a page is published. The steps are on How we check.
• Correct. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so in the change log, with the date.

Software helps with this work, including AI writing tools for drafting. The checks above run on the finished page whichever way a sentence was drafted.

Tools we have not used

We have not used any of the products we write about to run a list, a newsletter, a course or a sales page. That covers Kit, MailerLite, beehiiv, Systeme.io, Sender, EmailOctopus, Omnisend, Loops, Mailchimp and Brevo. Each page says this near the top, in the line under its title.

This means there are questions we cannot answer: how an editor feels to write in, how well emails reach the inbox, how quickly support replies. Where a reader needs those answers, the pages say so and point to what the official page does state. If we test a product ourselves later, the page will say exactly what we did and when.

How the site is paid

We are in Systeme.io's affiliate programme. Links that can earn us a commission are marked (paid ad) next to the link, and the page says so at the top. We are not in the affiliate programmes of the other products listed above. Details are on the Affiliate Disclosure.

Corrections

If a price, limit or quote on a page no longer matches the official page, email [email protected] with the page and the line. We re-open the official page, correct what is wrong and add a dated line to that page's change log saying what changed. Past corrections are in those logs: for example, a worked example on the Kit vs MailerLite page was corrected on 2026-09-23.
